How to play Tentacle Wars
Play Tentacle Wars free online and lead a colony of green cells. Grow tentacles to send energy across the battlefield, support your own cells, and capture rival colonies. Win each level by taking over every rival cell. Dormant gray cells can help you expand, but capturing them is optional.
- Connect a cell. Drag from a green cell to another cell. Friendly targets receive energy; rival targets lose energy until you capture them. The same drag works with a mouse or a finger.
- Build a supply network. Growing a tentacle costs energy. Once connected, it sends pulses without draining its source. Feed a front cell from your rear cells to sustain longer attacks.
- Cut at the right moment. Start in empty space and drag across one of your tentacles. A cut near its source sends more stored energy toward the target. A cut near the target returns more energy to your source.
- Grow and adapt. Stronger cells evolve and can support more tentacles with faster output. Keep enough energy in your sources and avoid paths blocked by cells or barriers.
For keyboard play, use Tab to focus a cell and Enter to select a source and target. Open the precise cut controls to choose a tentacle and cut position. Press Space to pause or resume, and R to restart a level.
9 levels to grow your colony
Begin with a single connection, then learn captures, timed cuts and supply networks. Later levels introduce competing enemy factions, barriers and long attacks that need support. Complete a level to unlock the next experiment, or replay an unlocked level to improve your best time.

A useful starting tactic is to capture nearby dormant cells, connect them to your strongest cell, then concentrate your attacks on one rival. Watch the energy needed to finish a long tentacle before committing to it.

Can I play on a phone or tablet?
Yes. Drag from a green cell to connect it, and swipe across your tentacles from empty space to cut them. Touch, mouse and keyboard controls are available.
Why does cutting a tentacle help?
A tentacle stores energy in its segments. Cutting divides that energy at the cut point. The target side travels forward as a burst, while the source side returns to your cell. The cut position determines how much goes each way.
Will my progress be saved?
Completed levels and best times are saved in this browser when local storage is available. Progress does not sync across devices and can be lost when you clear site data or use private browsing.
Are these the original Tentacle Wars levels?
This is an independent browser implementation with 9 original level layouts and procedural artwork. The campaign teaches connections, energy flow and cutting through its own experiments.
