How to play Wordle Archive
Guess the five-letter word in six tries. Type a word or tap the keyboard, then press Enter. Green means the letter is in the right spot. Gold means it belongs somewhere else. Gray means there are no more copies of that letter to find.
Letters can appear more than once. Each colored tile accounts for one copy, so a repeated letter can turn gray even when another copy is green.
The first 100 puzzles, from June 19 to September 26, 2021, are open to play. Choose a date from the archive and come back whenever you like. There is no timer.
A few things to know
Can I play every date in the archive?
You can play puzzles #0–#99 for free. The remaining dates are listed but locked. More puzzles will become available later.
Will my progress be saved?
Guesses and results are saved in this browser when storage is available. They do not sync between devices. Clearing browser data can remove your progress.
Why is my word not accepted?
This game uses its own English word list for guesses. It may accept or reject different words than the original daily game.
How far back does the archive go?
The archive lists 1,933 puzzle dates, beginning on June 19, 2021 and ending on October 3, 2026. It is a fixed collection, so new daily puzzles are not added automatically.
Archive records compiled from public community resources, including johnfoland/nyt-wordle-played and other published references. Guess vocabulary from dwyl/english-words. Wordle belongs to its respective rights holders. This independent game is not affiliated with or endorsed by The New York Times.
